Summary

YouTread collects the information needed to operate accounts, subscriptions, workout playback, workout editing, support, and FTMS Bluetooth equipment control.

We do not sell personal information. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Payments are handled by Stripe, authentication is handled through Firebase, and advertising measurement may be handled through Meta Pixel when configured.

Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use YouTread. It generally falls into these categories:

  • Account information: information used to create and identify your account, such as your name and email address.
  • Subscription information: information needed to provide trials, paid subscriptions, billing support, and cancellation or renewal status. Stripe processes payment card details.
  • Workout information: workout content you create, upload, edit, share, download, or use, including Youtube links and workout control timelines.
  • Equipment and preferences: settings you choose for equipment type, playback, display, units, and workout controls.
  • Support and compatibility information: information you provide when asking for help or testing whether your browser and equipment work with YouTread.
  • Technical information: information automatically generated when you use the service, such as device/browser information, approximate location from IP address, usage activity, error information, and security-related events.

How We Collect Information

  • Directly from you: when you create an account, choose settings, upload or edit workouts, submit compatibility reports, manage a subscription, or contact support.
  • Automatically from your browser or device: when you use the site, sign in, run workouts, test compatibility, or pair compatible equipment through Web Bluetooth.
  • From service providers: such as Firebase for authentication and Stripe for subscription status.

Bluetooth And Fitness Equipment Data

YouTread uses Web Bluetooth in supported browsers to connect to compatible FTMS fitness equipment. During a workout, your browser may read information from the equipment and send supported control commands so playback and equipment stay synchronized.

Routine Bluetooth control happens in your browser. We do not automatically store a continuous history of live equipment readings on our servers. If you submit a compatibility report or support log, it may include diagnostic information needed to troubleshoot compatibility.

Cookies And Browser Storage

YouTread uses cookies and browser storage to operate the service:

  • Session cookies: keep you logged in and help protect forms and same-origin requests.
  • Firebase browser storage: Firebase may store authentication state in your browser so login can work.
  • Meta Pixel cookies and browser signals: when configured, Meta Pixel may receive page and conversion events for advertising measurement and optimization.
  • Local storage: remembers compatibility completion status and optional diagnostic settings.
  • Session storage: supports short-lived workout-client behavior, such as reconnecting during a workout flow.

You can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings, but doing so may log you out or reset compatibility and workout-client preferences.

How We Use Information

  • To create and maintain accounts.
  • To authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
  • To provide subscriptions, free trials, billing status, and access control.
  • To store, edit, publish, share, hide, download, and play workouts.
  • To control compatible FTMS equipment during workouts.
  • To remember your settings and preferences.
  • To diagnose device compatibility, browser issues, Bluetooth issues, billing issues, and authentication issues.
  • To detect abuse, suspicious activity, fraud, and attempts to bypass access controls.
  • To send transactional email such as verification messages, password reset messages through Firebase, support responses, and subscription-related support notifications.
  • To maintain backups, troubleshoot errors, and improve the service.

Third-Party Services

YouTread uses third-party services that process information under their own policies:

  • Firebase and Google: used for browser authentication, Google sign-in, Firebase email/password accounts, email verification, password reset, and server-side authentication verification.
  • Stripe: used for subscription checkout, billing portal, trials, subscription status, payment processing, and billing status updates. Stripe receives billing and payment information needed to process your subscription.
  • Meta: when Meta Pixel is configured, used for advertising measurement and optimization through standard events such as page views, registrations, checkout starts, trial starts, and subscriptions.
  • Youtube and Google video/image services: used to play Youtube workout videos, fetch or display Youtube thumbnails, and identify Youtube video metadata. When you view Youtube content, Youtube may receive information such as your IP address, device/browser data, and video interactions under its own policies.
  • Google Fonts: the site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which can cause your browser to contact Google font servers.
  • Email provider/SMTP service: used to send support and transactional emails when configured.

Sharing And Disclosure

We disclose personal information to service providers and processors as needed to operate YouTread, including authentication, billing, video playback, email, hosting, support, security, logging, and maintenance providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, security, and service integrity.

If you mark a workout as shared or public, the information needed to display and run that workout may be visible to other users or included in the public workout catalog. Private workouts are intended to be visible only to you and authorized personnel who need access to operate or support the service.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect users, the public, YouTread, or others from fraud, abuse, safety risks, or security threats.

California Privacy Notice

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to limit certain uses or disclosures. YouTread does not sell personal information. When Meta Pixel is configured, advertising measurement events may be considered sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under some privacy laws.

In the last 12 months, the categories of personal information collected are the categories listed above. We collect and use these categories for the purposes described in this policy and disclose them to the categories of recipients described in this policy.

Data Retention

We keep account, subscription, settings, workout, and operational data for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce terms, protect security, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion from the active system.

Your Choices

  • You can update account preferences on the Settings page.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Subscription page and Stripe billing portal.
  • You can choose whether to submit compatibility reports.
  • You can avoid Web Bluetooth features by not pairing equipment, though workouts that control equipment require a compatible browser and device.
  • You can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information by contacting support. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including authentication, session protection, access controls, payment-provider verification, and security logging. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to limit access to information and detect suspicious activity.

Children

YouTread is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International Use

YouTread is operated from the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or by third-party providers in other locations where they operate.
